The need to sell homes has always existed. To meet this need, it is almost always necessary to deal with complex processes that do not offer transparency and that cause stress and uncertainty.
For this reason, at Casavo we constantly work for simplify the way people sell homes. To do this, every day we look for new ways to offer our customers an experience simple, transparent and digital.
We are aware that there is still a long way to go to digitize the entire sales experience and we are working hard to build it, piece by piece.
At the beginning of 2020, we launched our app for remote visits.. Our goal, also considering the particular period, was to allow people to continue the process of selling their home and to make them feel assisted and guided by us even in this period of uncertainty. Thanks to this app, in fact, people can show their home safely during a video call with a Casavo expert, without having to open the door to strangers. Using this tool, they can then move on to the next phase of the process, i.e. receive a purchase proposal from Casavo.

After a little less than a year, we asked ourselves if video calls were sufficient to meet the needs of all sellers and, with the aim of further reducing the complexities associated with the sales process, our response was:”Why stop here?”
There are people who have very hectic lives, who spend a lot of time away from home and who have difficulty finding the time to reconcile their availability with that of others. There are people who don't want to interact with strangers, neither in person nor from a distance. There are people who find themselves selling homes where they don't live and who are often far away from where they spend most of their time.
For these people (and for many others) we thought it was essential to introduce a new way of sharing the information necessary to receive an offer, perhaps more in line with their different lifestyles and that would allow sellers to have a truly simplified experience thanks to technology.
We then realized that most likely we should have abandoned the old concept of a real estate visit and we asked ourselves: “What is a home visit?”
A visit is nothing more than a moment dedicated to collecting data, such as the floor plan, any particular characteristics and the general condition of the property. And why couldn't we do it asynchronously? Why couldn't we transform our app into an information exchange channel? An app that people can access whenever and wherever they want and to which we simply receive a notification when all the necessary documents have been uploaded.
And this is how we have come to inaugurate a new type of “visit” in which the seller can do everything independently, simply by downloading our app and uploading, in their dedicated area, their photos and the floor plan of the property.

How does it work?
- The first step is to request an assessment of the house on the Casavo website.
- For all our customers interested in receiving a purchase offer from Casavo, they simply need to download the Casavo Visite app. The app is free and can be downloaded on Google Play (for Android devices) and on theApple Store (for iOS devices).
- At this point, you can log in using the phone number you provided during the online assessment.
- After logging in to your personal area, you can upload photos and the floor plan to complete the procedure. Our app allows you to take new photos or use those already in your phone's photo gallery. The floor plan can be uploaded in PDF format or you can take a photo of the hard copy.
- Once all the documents have been uploaded, the last thing you have to do is click to confirm that you have uploaded everything and that's it!

What are the advantages?
Alessandro Dadone, Product Manager, who works with the Casavo team responsible for managing the experience of those who want to sell their home, told us more about this new way of sharing information and why it represents an important step in the digitalization of the home sales process.
Where did the idea for this new technological solution come from?
“In simplifying the way people sell homes in Europe, we realized that there was an initial barrier in the process that could be eliminated: visiting the property. This new solution represents a key moment in which we give the seller the opportunity to have control of their sale from the first steps. From now on, sellers can choose how they prefer to share their property details and then receive an offer. They can make an in-person on-site visit, a video call with one of our experts, or complete the process themselves. We believe that the real innovation was to completely rethink one of the most consolidated steps of the experience, putting the customer at the center.
So, Alessandro, how does the sales process change with this new introduction?
The process is even faster, easier and totally under the user's control. This new way of sharing information with Casavo reduces the time needed to receive an offer, giving our customers even more certainty and guaranteeing the same reliability as an in-person inspection. This is a very simple process that anyone can carry out directly from their cell phone and that allows the user to have complete control of the experience. In fact, he can decide when to share materials with us and is guided through each step of the information-sharing process, which will then help us determine the value of the property to prepare our best offer. We believe that this new solution is the best way to simplify the entire sales experience as much as possible.
Can you tell us what the next steps will be to improve the experience of those who want to sell their home?
We work every day to simplify the sales experience and we think that technology can help us with this. This is why we focused on digitizing the visitor experience, as with this new feature. In the coming weeks, we will work to improve the collection of information, using artificial intelligence algorithms that can guide the user in sharing images. We will continue our journey towards innovation and the digitalization of the entire experience, even after visiting the property, and thanks to our app, the user will have more and more control over every phase of the process!
