There are some situations that, unfortunately, we cannot control, as citizens or as companies. All of our lives have been turned upside down in recent weeks by the arrival of the Coronavirus (Sars COVID-19) in Italy. The impact of this event has been significant, on all of us and on our activities.

In recent weeks, at Casavo, we have worked to identify the implications of COVID-19 on our business, to guarantee our service to our customers. Furthermore, we have asked ourselves how we could try to support other players in the real estate sector, who have found themselves in difficulty following the measures related to the epidemic.

On this page we tell you about the implications of COVID-19 on our activities and our response.

The health of our team first

From the very beginning, Casavo has extended to all its employees, where feasible, first the possibility and then the obligation, in line with legislative provisions, to work remotely (smartworking). The decision was made to ensure the health of our team and to avoid contributing to the spread of the virus. All Casavo employees, who before the 2019 emergency had the option of working from home four times a month, have adapted to the new situation to guarantee our services to our customers. We have also activated an additional insurance policy to support our employees, to be able to support them in the event they are infected by the virus.

We have accelerated the launch of our application for conducting virtual property tours

The launch of this application is part of the various activities we have carried out in recent months to simplify the real estate selling experience. We were born more Two years ago, we embarked on this mission, and with this new app, we decided to focus on one of the most stressful aspects of the sales process: the property viewing. The appointments to show your home to potential buyers are often numerous—more than twenty, as some of our clients have told us—and they force you to let strangers into your home and coordinate your commitments with their needs.

From today, all of this will change radically. Thanks to the new Casavo app, selling your home will become even easier: anyone interested in selling their home will be able to let us show their home comfortably from their mobile phone.

We've been busy developing this application for several months. We had planned to launch it in the coming months, but given the complex situation related to the COVID-19 virus, we have decided to accelerate the release times. This tool will allow us to support our customers even in a complex moment like the one we are experiencing. We will be able to facilitate and speed up the process of selling real estate properties and, at the same time, comply with all the requirements set out in the decree-law relating to the coronavirus emergency (DPCM of March 9, 2020) (DPCM of March 9, 2020).

The rapidly changing scenarios have forced us to review our plans. To release this technological tool in time to restore vitality to our business, we must ensure that our clients are fully aware of the current situation. To address the real estate market in a time of crisis, we have decided to leave out some secondary features that we had already designed. For this reason, any opinions and suggestions are more than welcome, and will help us optimize the tool in the weeks to come. The Casavo application is available today for all customers interested in selling a home.

We are committed to developing technological solutions for our partners

Since the current emergency situation is putting our real estate agencies partners in difficulty, in the coming weeks we will make the application available to them as well, so as to be able to guarantee them our support in this complex moment. Furthermore, we are working closely with our partners to develop technological solutions that can support them in their activities.

The first technological solution we launched is the new showcase for real estate listings, which is now also open to our partners.

In these complex weeks for both industry professionals and private individuals, we wanted to focus all our energies on creating a space that would give maximum prominence only to quality real estate listings. From today, thanks to our portal, you can already find a space for your real estate listings. Active in Bologna, Florence, Milan, Rome, Turin, and Verona, searching for a home has become even simpler and more accessible to everyone. The great innovation of our portal is precisely this: the ads suitable for publication are carefully evaluated and selected before going online. This way, you can abandon all worries and dedicate yourself fully to the search for your future home. The Casavo portal will be accessible only to a group of real estate agents authorized to publish sales ads in line with our high selection standards. This will allow everyone—from agents to potential buyers like you—to be able to count on the maximum standards of reliability and professionalism that have always distinguished the Casavo world.

Casavo's solution responds precisely to this need: to guarantee you the highest quality to minimize the effort in finding your future home. In fact, you will find:

  1. quality listings with high-definition photographs and accurate details, necessary to get a thorough idea before making an appointment for a viewing;
  2. qualified real estate agents who enjoy Casavo's utmost trust, to ensure professional and competent intermediaries;
  3. constantly evolving technology at the service of your needs, to simplify your life as much as possible starting from listening to your needs.

Furthermore, our service will be Free for agents who place real estate listings.

We have studied the impact of the emergency on the real estate sector in 2019 and continue to monitor its effects.

We are facing a new challenge, with an undoubtedly significant impact on the real estate sector in Italy and Spain. In recent weeks, we have studied the different scenarios we can expect for the future, also comparing the situation to other past epidemics. We will share this information in a webinar with our CEO Giorgio Tinacci, to help industry professionals imagine the future that awaits us. We are also collaborating with researchers and industry experts to create information materials to help understand the impact of the outbreak.
